But after downgrading to stock 3.1.3 and updating to whited00r 6.2, It crashes after i open the ROM. I tried various fixes/workarounds but the best i could achieve was to open the ROM just to see a black screen with just the gpSPhone controllers showing. I read various discussions in this forum, some suggested re-jailbreaking with redsn0w but I have the following problems: 1) redsn0w doesn't have an option of NOT installing cydia 2) redsn0w doesn't accept the whited00r firmware 3) it doesn't even support the stock 3.1.3 firmware and the iPod touch 2g.

Welcome to the forums Try using the version of redsn0w which whited00r recomends, as it is should work a lot better for you: For using redsn0w, the whited00r firmware would not be recognized because even though it is 3.1.3, it is a modified version. So always use stock 3.1.3 firmware when redsn0w asks for a firmware (the version I linked above should recognize the iPod touch one, as it is an older version). I don't think rejailbreaking would help the app to stop crashing, or fix the loading issues though, have you tried older versions of it instead? (I know you said you tried various fixes and workarounds). You are right, I'm not sure what it is O.o sorry about that (I never have to use it myself, so I am a little rusty there).
