I am using the following iso from Red Hat: rhel-server-6.1-x86_64-dvd.iso MD5SUM: a051dbf28ef444a019dc6660efe3e3a4 Then, with Xen 5.6 SP2 and the linux pack installed, I do the following. Click New VM 2. Scroll through the list and choose the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit) 3. Name the VM 4. Select the installation media as the iso which is on my NFS ISO Library 5.
Don't assign a home server (we have cluster of 3 servers) 6. 1 CPU / 1024 MB RAM 7. Electricman 2 Hs Game there. Storage - I give it 8 gb of space on our SAN 8.
Give it an appropriate bonded network to use 9. Uncheck start automatically (this really shouldn't matter but I am not opposed to holding my finger in just the right position or waiting for the correct outside air temperature to get this to work) 10. Boot the vm - It does read the CD, but it is in text mode (i can live with this, its a server and I can install in text mode) 11. Choose english 12. Choose local cd/dvd Then.
I get the driver error: No driver found Unable to find any devices of the type needed for this installation type. Would you like to manually select your driver or use a driver disk? I have searched the forum, google, and my soul for an answer to this problem but with no luck. I have tried choosing the 'other installation media' method as well and although it starts a gui (pretty!) it does not succeeed either. I would rather not burn a call to Citrix about this ( I am running the commercial version with a support agreement ). True/False: Xen 5.6 SP2 will run RHEL 6.1 / 64 bit? Have you found the solution to this problem yet?
I have the same problem. I am actually installing from a DVD drive on a Dell PowerEdge R610. It has 2 Xeon E5540 2.53GHz processors with 12GB of memory. I reach the Installation Method screen that asks 'What type of media contains the installation image?' I select Local CD/DVD here. But my question is why is it even asking this question?
