Members here should try to keep his suggestions in mind when engaging with people in the industry. On the other hand, I also think realistically performers need to take comments from the public in stride. There will always be many people who post snarky or downright rude comments.

Other people may innocently post their thoughts, impressions and ideas but the talent still may disagree with them, take offense or feel hurt. Such is life in the big city on public discussion forums. Dealing with the public is part of what they signed up for when they entered the spotlight. The internet is a contact sport, it's gonna be rough at some points and for this industry especially. I have had an interesting discussion recently on my blog where someone is arguing with me about girls in porn all being mentally unstable and damaged people, basically saying that girls who are 'open' about sex are all damaged.

My discussion with him is purely logical and I am just enjoying poking holes in his arguments, no emotionally engaging with any of his opinions, which i think is the best way. With all that being said, she was the one who 'appreciated' the guy who said she seemed more American than Chinese. As a Chinese person, that is very offending. If we're talking about respect it needs to go both ways.

She is Chinese, she seems Chinese, and there's nothing wrong with that at all (she obviously has no problem using race to her advantage with marketing ).
